ApiJect Appoints Joseph Wojcik, MBA, PMP Senior Director of Pharmaceutical Development Services

Stamford, CT; May 15, 2024-ApiJect Systems, Corp. a medical technology company whose device development platform will make the safety and performance advantages of single-use prefilled syringes affordable and available for many more patients, today announced the appointment of Joseph Wojcik, MBA, PMP to the position of Senior Director, Pharmaceutical Development Services.

As leader of the Pharma Development Team, Mr. Wojcik is responsible for overseeing the successful completion of client development projects, from lab-scale early phase through late-stage development. In addition, he manages client engagement and provides support for combination device programs, including non-GMP feasibility, drug product formulation and compounding, and business planning to help clients achieve their goals.

With over 17 years of experience in drug development and delivery, Mr. Wojcik specializes in formulation, tech transfer, fermentation, purification, sterile-filtration, and product development in Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) aseptic packaging technology. He is considered a Subject Matter Expert at ApiJect and has played a role in designing and building an automated particulate inspection machine for the company’s novel drug delivery device for sterile injectables. He supported the launch of a new BFS Research & Development center and managed contract manufacturing organizations for their part in manufacturing and packaging.

Previously, Mr. Wojcik managed drug development programs with Upsher Smit Laboratories. At DDL Inc., he led strategic planning for growth in new markets for combination products testing. At Lifecore Biomedical, he designed and executed development studies involving both small- and large-scale formulation and sterile filtration. With Catalent Pharma Solutions, now Woodstock Sterile Solutions, Mr. Wojcik was the technical lead for product and process development from bench-top to commercial-scale studies. Serving as the primary technical contact, he designed aseptic processes for commercial products. Prior to working in pharmaceuticals, he held academic positions in the Chemistry and Microbial Sciences Departments at the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Wojcik earned his MBA from Minnesota State University and his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. In addition, he is certified by the Project Management Institute.
